Wanda Lee Fouts, 87, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, July 15, 2020, at Yates Center Health & Rehab.

Wanda was born February 25, 1933, in Yates Center, the daughter of Lowell and Esther (Oswald) Medlin. She was a life-long resident of Yates Center and graduated from Yates Center High School in 1951.

On June 3, 1962, she and Richard L. Fouts were married at the First Christian Church in Yates Center.

Wanda was employed by the Woodson County Superintendent of Schools for 14 years. She also operated a daycare raising many children. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers.

She was a long-time active member of the First Christian Church in Yates Center where she was baptized. She had served as Deaconess and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowhsip. She helped with many church dinners and also volunteered at the Yates Center Nursing Home.

Her husband, Richard, preceded her in death on March 11, 2010. She was also preceded by her sister, Leola Lynskey.

She leaves a niece, Robyn Yost and husband Kendall of Ozark, MO; two great-nephews, Caden and Cody Yost; her caregiver, Helen George; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2020, at the Town Hall (formerly the First Christian Church) in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.

DUE TO COVID-19 THE FAMILY ASKS THAT ALL WHO ATTEND THE SERVICES WEAR A MASK. THE FUNERAL HOME WILL PROVIDE MASKS TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM.

The casket will remain closed. Those who wish to come by Campbell Funeral Home to pay respects and sign the register book may come between 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Friday.
