Wanda Sue Combs, 69, of LeRoy, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Life Care Center in Burlington, embraced by her loving family and her dear friend Dot.

Wanda was born on September 14, 1948, in Johnson City, Tennessee, the daughter of Charles and Ruby (Saylor) Ayers.  When she was 6 years old, the family moved to California where she lived until moving to Kansas in the 1980s.  On March 3, 1989, Wanda was united in marriage to Glen Combs at Miami, Oklahoma, and they made their home in LeRoy.

She had worked at the Wolf Creek Nuclear plant for many years, beginning in security and retiring in 2011 in the engineering department.  She also had owned and operated the "New to You" store in LeRoy, born of her love of antiques, flea markets and auctions.

Wanda loved reading and visiting the LeRoy Library, tending to her flowers, creating crafts and, most of all, spoiling her dogs.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Keller.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Combs, of LeRoy; a son, Christopher Herold of Buffalo, New York; three stepchildren, Victoria Crain of Columbus, Brian Combs (Michelle) of Girard, and Glenda Roberts (Scott) of Harrison, Arkansas;  a brother, Ed Bayard (Linda) of Owosso, Michigan; her nieces and nephews, Shawn Bayard (Amanda) of Callahan, Florida, and Jeff Bayard (Hannah) of Escondido California; niece Jennifer Troncale (Nick) of Wildomar California; two great-nieces and a great-nephew; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will hold a celebration of Wanda's life at a later date.
