Virginia L. "Ginny" Knight, 88, Burlington, died on August 16, 2020 at the Sunset Manor in Waverly.

Ginny was born on March 6, 1932, in Coffey County to James and Mary Kraft Morris.

On June 27, 1951, she married Glen Paxson. They were later divorced. On December 21, 1978, she married Robert Dale Knight at New Strawn. He died on April 2, 2012.

Ginny was a member of the first Coffey County / Burlington Women's Softball  League, she belonged to the Women's Bowling League, the American Legion, F.O. of Eagles, Burlington Cat Backers, and the Forget Me Not Club.

She had worked as a meat wrapper for Bob's IGA and for the U.S.D. #244 as a custodian from which she retired.

Ginny was preceded by her parents, her husband, Dale, an infant son Steven, her stepsons, Mike and Tom Knight, a brother, Donald Morris, and a step great great granddaughter, Burgundy Knight.

Ginny is survived by her sons, Gary Paxson, Emporia and Randy (Vicki) Paxson, Neodesha, and a step daughter, Shelli (Tom) Hugunin, Burlington, a sister, Dorothy DeMoss Bell, Burlington, 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Children's Mercy Ronald McDonald House and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.

Family and Guests are asked to wear their favorite sports team attire.

DUE TO COVID-19 WE ENCOURAGE ALL WHO ATTEND THE SERVICES WEAR A MASK, BUT IT IS NOT REQUIRED. THE FUNERAL HOME WILL PROVIDE MASKS TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM.
