Velva Jean Hall, 87, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

She was born February 26, 1932, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Elsie May (Daly) Johnson.

Velva had earned a Master's Degree in Education.

She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Stephens of Chanute; her daughter, Cynthia See of Chanute; and her son, Craig Voigt of Wichita.

Private family burial will be in Toronto Cemetery in Toronto, Kansas.
