Tonya Faye Cuppy of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly late Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, KS, after becoming ill at home. She was 43 years old.

She was born September 27, 1978, at Iola, the daughter of Donald Gene Cuppy and Judy Faye Wells Cuppy. She attended the Iola schools graduating from Iola High School in 1998. She had been employed at the 107 Inn in Yates Center, at Russell Stover in Iola, and as a bus monitor and crossing guard for USD 366 in Yates Center. She loved fishing, bowling, and racing.

Tonya was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yates Center.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Lonnie Shrofe.

She leaves her mother, Judy Cuppy, Yates Center; brothers, Don Cuppy (Shelly), Fowler, KS, Ronald Holmquest, Jr., and Lee, Aaron, Kaidan, and Blake Cuppy, Yates Center; a sister, Marchelle Shaffer (Kelly), Yates Center; her companion, Kim Leckrone; 7 nephews and a great-niece who she greatly enjoyed; many other relatives and friends.

Memorial graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Yates Center Cemetery.
