Tammie LeAnn Sievers, 66, life-long resident of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Sunday night, October 19, 2025, at her home.

She was born June 9, 1959, at Iola, KS, the daughter of Charles Lee and Rita Ann (King) Matile. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1977.

On November 6, 1976, she and Charles Dean 'Chuck' Sievers were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt, KS. They became the parents of two children, Jeromy and Angela.

Tammie and Chuck owned and operated Sievers Auto Parts in Yates Center from 1982 until 2006.

Tammie was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yates Center.

She was talented in arts and crafts and enjoyed gardening and home decorating and was a great cook.

Her true gift was love of children. Everywhere she went toddlers would crawl or waddle to her and ask to be held, only to bail and return shortly with a book. Soon there would be another 2 or 3 as close as they could get, each with their own book. She loved to read and sing to them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Matile, Sr. and Rita Ann Matile and one brother, Robert 'Buck' Matile.

She leaves Chuck, her husband of more than 48 years. Chuck shared how Tammie had been raising and caring for children since she was 18 years old through her death. Starting with her children, and then day-care kids and grandchildren. She impacted and mentored many of the youth in our community in a positive way for many years. For the last 25 years she was known as Nana.

She had a strong faith and a great love for Jesus, which she eagerly shared with our youth.

She is also survived by her children, Jeromy Dean Sievers and Angela Marie Gaulding (Brandon), all of Yates Center; 7 grandchildren, Braydon, Shayla, and Averi Gaulding, and Asher, Austin, Kyler, and Briley Sievers; a sister, Pam Tipton (Richard), Yates Center; a brother, Charles Matile, Jr. (Janie), Holcomb, KS; a number of nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday October 30, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yates Center. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00am followed by a Catholic Mass at 10:30am.
