Tamera Kay (Baldwin) Kiefer, 58, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Friday afternoon, May 29, 2020, at her home.

Tami was born November 26, 1961, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Robert and Marcia Baldwin. When she was four years old, the family moved to Burlington, Kansas. Tami grew up on the family farm with siblings and grandparents, and graduated from Burlington High School in 1979. She started her nursing career in high school by working as a Nurse Aide at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, often alongside her mom. She earned a degree as a Registered Nurse at the Newman School of Nursing in Emporia, KS. She was a valued RN for 30+ years at Coffey County Hospital, Providence/St. Margaret Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, and then at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

On September 1, 1990, Tami and Benjamin Kiefer were married in Overland Park. They became the proud parents of two children, Chelsea Dawn and Joshua James, and later divorced.

After her retirement from nursing, Tami loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her family was the most important thing to her, and she went by a lot of nicknames including Momma, Mimi, Grandma, Sis, Tam, TK, Aunt Tami. She was a devoted grandma, and spent lot of time caring for her grandkids, laughing and reading with them.  She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, playing cards, giving out good medical advice, and a hot game of Yahtzee.

Tami was preceded in death by her father, Bob Baldwin and her grandparents, Duane and Agnes Gifford, and Art and Ruth Frank.  She leaves her children, Chelsea Kiefer and Brady Jacobs of Overland Park, and Joshua Kiefer and Kayla of Spring Hill, KS; four grandchildren, Jayden Fellers and Dalton, Carson, and Grayson Kiefer; her mother, Marcia Baldwin of Burlington; her siblings, Shane Baldwin and Jennifer, Lewisville, NC, Shawn Fowler and Owen, Clinton, WA, and Jason Baldwin and Lisa, Overland Park; nieces and nephews, Janelle and Chris, Blake and Jenn, Kyle and Hannah, Spencer, Silas, Sage, and six great nieces Kat, Bella, Evelyn, Reece, Ariana, and Sloane. She was dearly loved, never knew a stranger, and will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, caring, and love for family, friends and others.

The public is invited to come to Jones Funeral Home in Burlington from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2020, and sign the register book.

Private family memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020, with inurnment in Graceland Cemetery in Burlington.

In honor of her love of gardening, the family is planning a memorial flower garden.  In lieu of fresh flowers, donations of perennials would be welcome.  A memorial fund has been established at the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, which Tami avidly supported due to her niece's health condition.
