Steven Ray Winn, age 68 of Burlington Kansas, passed away unexpectedly Thursday July 11, 2019 at his rural Burlington home.  Steve was born on July 19, 1950, in Burlington Kansas to Albert J. (Joe) Winn and Kathleen Marjorie (Williams) Winn.  He grew up on the farm, attended Venard and Pleasant View rural schools then Burlington High School.

After High School Steve decided to follow in his father's footsteps and became a 4 ^th generation dairyman assisting with farming and milking the family herd of registered Guernsey cows until they relocated their farm due to the construction of the Wolf Creek Power Plant.  They then moved the dairy to a farm near Moran, Kansas.  Joe became sick in 1993 and Steve took over the Dairy.  Steve was an excellent dairyman winning many awards for his high milk production.

After selling the Guernsey herd in 1994 Steve continued to farm for several years. After the death of his parents, Steve moved back to the Burlington area to pursue his interest in fishing at John Redmond and Wolf Creek Lake. Steve loved to hunt, was an avid fisherman and was also a World War II enthusiast.   He liked to travel and took a trip to Russia. Steve spent many hours in the kitchen and was an excellent cook.  He also enjoyed shooting pool, playing dominos and cards with his friends and watching old movies and films on TV.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Kathleen and Joe Winn.  He is survived by his children Rachel Andrews, Derek Winn, and Jerry Winn.  Survivors also include his sister Donna (Winn) Salava and her husband John, a nephew Robert Salava and his wife Dinna and family and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
