Stephen Ray Allen, 72, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at his home.

Steve was born March 8, 1949, in Burlington, the son of Winfield Paul and Ethel Grace (Lipe) Allen. When he was a child the family lived at Strawn, Kansas. After a fire at their home they moved to a farm southwest of Burlington. Steve graduated from Burlington High School where he participated in football and track.

Following high school he was employed by Burrell Radio and TV. Later he owned Allen TV & Telephone. He served in the Kansas National Guard for 13 years and was a member of Congdon-Kepler Post #38, American Legion in Burlington.

On March 7, 1978, he and Carol Ann Banks were married at Burlington. She survives. He is also survived by his son, Jason Allen and his wife Angela of Plato, MO; his daughter, Miranda Jennings of Independence, MO; six grandchildren, Kassie Allen, Alisha Breshears, and Kali, Bryce, Zaccari, and James Blayten Allen; a great-granddaughter, Kamiya King; his brother, Richard Allen of Burlington; his sister, Alma Caudell and husband Ken of Burlington; Uncle and Aunt, Dan and Linda Allen of Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Allen and Ethel Allen Link, and his sister-in-law, Charlotte Allen.

Steve enjoyed being outdoors. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it and especially enjoyed helping someone farm.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.

There will be a come-and-go visitation from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
