Shirley was born on March 2, 1943 in St. Clair County, Missouri, to Bryan Ginter and Hulda A. Hering. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City, Missouri and was baptized on May 16, 1943.  She then graduated from high school in 1961 at the Appleton City High school, Appleton City, Missouri. After graduation, Shirley worked at Nelly Don Dress Factory. Shirley then went to the Nevada Public School of Practical Nursing in Nevada, Missouri. She was a licensed practical nurse for 23 years.

On June 19, 1986, Shirley and Steven Fellers got married in Burlington, Kansas. After getting married, Shirley moved to New Strawn, Kansas and worked at the Golden Age Lodge in Burlington and Newman Memorial County Hospital in Emporia, Kansas. Shirley liked to sew, read, make crafts, travel, and have a flower garden. Prior to her death, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, Kansas.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Cletus Schulte.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, Kansas, on February 24, 2023, at 10 a.m.

Graveside will be at the Neodesha, Kansas Cemetery.
