Theodore Scott Lowder, 46, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, at his home in Yates Center.

Scott was born September 1, 1973, in Denver, Colorado, to Kay Dodge Lowder. He attended school in Denver and upon high school graduation he and his mother, Kay, and his brothers, James, moved to Yates Center to be near family. After living and working in Yates Center for a time he then enrolled and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism. He loved the world of journalism, writing, and photography. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved nephews, Quin and Jeremiah Lowder, the sons of his late brother, James.

Watching KU basketball and target shooting were favorite pastimes. Scott was devoted to his Mom and when she became ill before her death he was a loving care giver. He had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Lowder; his mother, Kay Dodge Lowder; and his grandparents, Lyle and Ruth Dodge of Fairview, Kansas.

He is survived by his nephews Quin and Jeremiah Lowder; his aunt and uncles, Kelly and Carol Lyon and Kim Dodge, all of Yates Center; his cousins, Kyle (Pattie) Lyon and their children Kieley and Aaron of Independence, IA, Dixie (Nick) Colquhoun and their children, Delany and Addison of Newkirk, OK; and close friend, Lacie Culbertson of Iola, KS

No services will be held. At a later date his Aunt Carol and Uncle Kelly and his nephews, Quin and Jeremiah Lowder will take his and his mother's ashes to Colorado to join those of his brother, James, on the mountain top.
