Russel Alfred Maine of Waverly, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. He lived an active, healthy life up to the day before he went to be with the Lord.

He was born on October 5, 1930, in Lebo, Kansas to Samuel Alfred and Laura Ellen Maine. He graduated from Waverly High School in 1950. He served in the Kansas National Guard.

On December 24, 1950, he and Lois Inez Richardson were married at the Mt. Pleasant Church, north of Melvern, KS. Lois preceded him in death on October 16, 2018.

Russel is survived by his 9 children, Nancy (Tom) Merrell, Springdale, AR, Ruth (Mark) McNabb, Bastrop, TX, Mary Collins, Waverly, KS, Anita (Terry) Ashlock, Bonita ( Stanley) Case, Clarksville, AR, John (Pam) Maine, Gypsum, KS, Rick (Debbie) Maine, Fruitport, MI, Ken (Cyndee) Maine, Wichita, KS, and Loretta Maine, Cave Springs, AR, 29 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister, Dorelda Prothe, Waverly, KS, sisters-in-law Helen Maine, Okmulgee, OK, Edna Maine, Paola, KS and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, his siblings, Howard Maine, Wilma Crouse, Donna Riniker, Lloyd Maine, Claude Maine, Glen Maine, son-in-law, Jerry Collins, and great granddaughter, Taffani Merrell.

Services will be at held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington, KS. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Lebo, Kansas.

The family would like to invite everyone to join them at the Lebo Baptist Church Fellowship Hall for a coffee reception following the burial service.
