Royce Errol Saubers

Royce was born in Buffalo, Kansas to Jake and Lola Saubers. He loved his country and served in the army from 1963-1965, 6 months of that time was spent in Vietnam. On June 28, 1968, he married Belva Audiss and this union was blessed with 2 daughters Shala and Gayla.

Raising crops and cattle, working in the oil field, and driving an oil truck were a few of the ways that Royce spent his days. He was known for his hard work, strength, fortitude and dedication to his family. He loved spending time with his family & friends, and always enjoyed taking his family on sight-seeing adventures across the US. In recent years, he could often be found playing the game of Wahoo with his best friend Rick as his teammate and their wives as competitors. He was competitive and was convinced if he wasn't winning it was because the opponents were cheating!

He enjoyed life and had many joys. His greatest joy was the peace and contentment he found in serving Jesus. He made a profession of this faith in 1984, standing straight, hands behind his back like a solider while singing "I'm satisfied in Jesus now." He loved his time in fellowship meetings and gatherings.

Royce is survived by his wife Belva of the home in Yates Center, Shala (Doug) Stitt of Buffalo, Twin Sister Joyce (Paul) Schwindt of Mountain Home Arkansas, Clara Belle (Dave) Butler of Rockwall TX, His very special and deeply loved grandchildren Laisen (Kia) Stitt of Yates Center, Kasha (Johnny) Righini of Yates Center, Tytan Smoot of Yates Center, Taven Smoot of Yates Center, Kailor Stitt of Buffalo, Jaelyn Stitt of Buffalo, bonus grandchildren Tabitha Smoot, Jake Howard & Mary Frantz, and bonus daughter Melissa Smoot.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold, Jake, Lloyd and sisters Helen Tredway, Shirley and his son-in-law and daughter Doug and Gayla Smoot.

Royce will be remembered as being strong in the strength of gentleness and as a "gentle giant". He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
