Ronald Lynn DeLay passed away suddenly on December 22, 2022 at his sheltered living home in Humboldt, Kansas.

Ron was born June 12, 1943, in Emporia, Kansas. Ronny grew up in Yates Center, Kansas and graduated from YCHS in 1961. Ron excelled in baseball, basketball, football, and track. He was Basketball King in 1961 and had also been class President. As a senior, Ron contracted Viral Encephalitis that drastically changed his life. He was always happy and kept his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin W. DeLay (1970), Ila Grove Ward DeLay (2015) and his brother, Dennis G. DeLay (2020).

Survivors include his sister, Vicki Long (Loren), a sister in law, Ellen DeLay, nieces, Kerry DeLay McCane, Courtney Long Ast, Whitney Long, a nephew, Douglas DeLay.
