Roger Dean Johnson, 66, of Chanute, KS, passed away May 3, 2024, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS.

He was born December 16, 1957, at Virgil, KS, the son of Francis and Louise (Truelove) Johnson. He graduated from Yates Center High School. He worked with his dad at J & W Trailers and later opened Thoroughbred Trailers with Norval Audiss. For the rest of his career, he was an over-the-road trucker. He enjoyed collecting old glass lights and lanterns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Nick Johnson in 2016; an infant brother, Randy Johnson; and an infant granddaughter, Gracelyn Gangle.

He leaves his son, Dane Johnson, Yates Center, KS and his daughters, Lucy and Lily Johnson; his long-time companion, Debbie Link; Debbie's children, Rebecca Gangle (Mike), Shawnee, KS, and their daughter Ava Gangle, and Stefanie Taylor (Chris), Chanute, KS and their children, Cayden, Emily, and Bradley Taylor; a sister, Carol Adams, Yates Center; other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned. A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held at a later date.

Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center is assisting the family.
