Roger Carrol Bryant was born to Robert and Delores (McCarty) Bryant in Sheldon, Iowa on January 26, 1957. He grew up in Sheldon, Iowa, attending Sheldon High School. After graduating, he attended college in Ottumwa, Iowa for two years.
In 1980, he moved to Yates Center, Kansas.
On July 10, 1981, Roger married Trudy Timmer at the United Methodist Church in Yates Center, Kansas. Born into this union were two children, Rachel and Jason.
He enjoyed working outdoors, and he was employed as an oil field foreman until he retired in 2014.
Roger enjoyed many activities with his friends and family. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his 1974 Harley Davidson Superglide, camping, boating, swimming, water skiing, working on plumbing and electrical projects, shooting fireworks with the kids, grilling and smoking foods,
and hosting cookouts with friends and family. He was proud of his Irish heritage.
He was a Perpetual Life Member and Past Master of the Gilead Lodge #144, in Yates Center.
He was also a member of the Mirza Shrine and the United Methodist Church.
Roger passed peacefully with his wife and children by his side on Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 67 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Trudy Bryant, of Yates Center, Kansas, two children, Rachel Bishop and her husband, Charles of Yates Center, KS, Jason Bryant and his wife, Lauren of St. Paul, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Bryant and Avery Bishop and Frances Traver Bryant; three sisters, Linda Harbst and her husband Jerry of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Bonnie Barry and her husband, Dave, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Dee Ann Anderson and her husband, Greg of Bloomington, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bill Bryant.
After the graveside service, relatives and friends are invited to join the family to share memories and have lunch in the Community Building.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Yates Center United Methodist Church or to the Masonic Lodge #144.

A visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church in Yates Center on Thursday, June 13, at 9:30am and the funeral service will start at 10:30 am. Graveside will follow at the Yates Center Cemetery.
