Robert Albert Moon, 87, of rural Waverly, Kansas passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.

Robert was born October 21, 1935, at Emporia, KS, the son of Jum and Ora (Cooper) Moon. He attended the Lebo, KS schools and then served in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge he returned to Lebo.

On June 25, 1967, he and Virginia Mark were married at the Burlington Christian Church.

Robert was employed by the Kansas State Highway Dept. until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Moon, who died on September 11, 2009.

He leaves Virginia, his wife of more than 55 years; his daughter, Brenda Marie Moon of Osage City, Ks; 6 grandchildren, Dustin, Derek, and Blake Moon, and Kooper, Jacob, and Harlee Watkins; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Flora Umbarger, Garnett, KS; a brother, William Moon, Olivet, KS; many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
