Robert Eugene "Bob" Edwards, 93, of rural Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, May 26, 2021, at Yates Center Health & Rehab.

Bob was born March 10, 1928, in Yates Center, the son of Glenn Gail and Anna Luella (Neufeld) Edwards. He graduated from Yates Center High School with the Class of '46. He was a lifelong resident of Woodson County.

On May 28, 1948, he and Alberta Marie Harding were married at the Methodist Parsonage in Yates Center. They made their home in the Turkey Creek Neighborhood in Woodson County.

Bob was a farmer and rancher. He had also worked in the oil fields, as a blade operator for Woodson County, and as a security guard at Wolf Creek Generating Station.

He was a long-time member of the Turkey Creek United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the LeRoy Coop and the Farm Bureau. He was an avid KU Basketball and Kansas City Chiefs fan and rarely missed watching a game.

His wife, Alberta, preceded him in death on February 1, 2016, following more than 67 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Ronald Edwards, who was a twin to his son Don; a sister, Mary Ann Watts; and a brother, Don Edwards.

He leaves his sons, Don Edwards and wife Donna, Yates Center, and Brad Edwards, Gridley; grandchildren, Stephanie Affield and husband Lorin, Trent Edwards and wife Melissa, Suzanne Fales and husband Jason, Jennifer Vesey and husband Will, Shelbey Kohman and husband Marshall, and Paige Holcomb and husband Levi; great-grandchildren, Lane and Landon Affield, Taylor Edwards-Dietz and husband David, Tyler Edwards, Ethan and Parker Fales, Adison, Baylor, Easton, and Collins Vesey, and Bentley , Brielle, and Lukas Kohman; a sister, Kathy Cropp and husband Russell, Bethany, OK; brother-in-law, Gail Watts; sisters-in-law Mary Lee Edwards and Dorothy Osburn; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Askren Cemetery northwest of Yates Center.

The family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Campbell Funeral Home.
