Richard "Chilton" Milton Phillips, IV, 65, life-long resident of Yates Center, passed away Saturday night, June 8, 2019, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born December 4, 1953, in Yates Center, the son of Richard Milton Phillips, III, and Wanda Jeanette (Adams) Phillips.

Chilton attended the Yates Center Schools and graduated from Yates Center High School in 1971. He attended Allen County and Neosho County Community Colleges.

He was employed as a contractor welder and pipefitter at Wolf Creek Generating Station in Burlington and in later years worked outages at nuclear plants. He enjoyed working the outages as this gave him time to pursue his true passion, hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Yates Center.

He and Rhonda Annette Myers were married in Yates Center and enjoyed being together the past 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves his wife, Rhonda; his children, Stacy Drake and fiancé Karl Schimmel of Olathe, KS, Violet Sadowsky of Wichita, KS, and Nathan Drake and wife Pami of Emporia, KS; four grandchildren, Martain Wade, Parker Drake, Kayli Drake, and Kinli Drake; four sisters, Patricia Jackson and husband Bill, Augusta, KS, Pam Stillwell, Augusta, KS, Becky Eller and husband Neal, Lawrence, KS, and Susan Davis, Lawrence, KS; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Campbell Funeral Home.
