Richard "Wayne" Oswald was born on March 8, 1940, and raised in Yates Center, Kansas.  He moved to Wichita to attend Wichita University and then moved to Iola to attend Allen Community College, formerly Iola Jr. College, prior to joining and serving four years in the United States Air Force.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Wichita on July 14, 2020.

Richard Wayne spent most of his adult life residing in Wichita where he was married three times, finally settling with his wife Virginia in June 1990.  He had three biological children and seven stepchildren.  He worked several jobs before landing a job with Boeing where he worked more than 20 years and retired in 2004.

Richard Wayne is survived by his son Richard Wayne Hamilton and wife of Indianapolis, IN, daughter Jennifer Lynn Jones and husband of Verona, NJ, son Christopher Wayne Oswald of Wichita, KS, son Alvis Dale Ivy, daughter Virginia Darlene Leddy and husband of McKenzie TN, son Richard Leon Ivy and wife of Iola, KS, son Matthew Delorne Ivy and wife of Milan, TN, brother Orland Oswald and wife of Conroe, TX, surviving spouses of deceased children, 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins and other extended relatives.

Richard Wayne is preceded in death by wife Virginia Ivy Oswald of Wichita, KS, sons James Ralph Ivy, Bobby Ivy, and Randy Paul Ivy of Milan, TN, parents Orland and Mary Margarette Oswald of Yates Center, and brothers Marion and Francis Oswald of Yates Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 17, 2020, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center, KS. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Campbell Funeral Home.
