Richard Phillip Coopman, 83, Waverly, died on June 19, 2020, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. He died from complications of many long-term health issues.

Richard was born on June 26, 1936, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Francis Arthur and Harriet Lucille Blake Coopman.

Richard served in the United States Air Force.

On January 10, 1957, he married Rosella Mary Wilbur. Before settling in Waverly, Kansas in 1975, they lived in Wisconsin, Colorado, and Kansas City, Missouri.

In Waverly he owned and operated a pet distributing business and was a member of Professional Pet Distributors Organization, Inc. including being a board member for several years and a short term as President.

He purchased Plasti-Crate Inc. in 1981 from Mclouth Ks. He moved the business to Waverly and developed several newer molds. That business is still in the family and being run by the third generation of Coopman's.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Carol Banta, and Karen Coopman. He is survived by his children, Donna (Bruce) Hess, Monica (Calvin) Rutledge, Laurie (Greg)  Morey, Tina (Alberto) Correa, Robert (Tamra) and Richard Coopman, two brothers, David and Daniel Coopman, 21 grandkids and 15 Great Grandkids, other relatives and friends.
