Harold "Ray" Whiteley, 75, of LeRoy, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, July 16, 2021, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS.

Ray was born July 10, 1946, at LeRoy, the son of Charles Elmer and Devota Grayce (Baker) Whiteley. He grew up in LeRoy and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1964. He farmed and drove a truck before retiring to LeRoy. He loved his mules and enjoyed taking them trail riding and to parades. He also loved his companion, his Miniature Schnauzer "Pete". He enjoyed going to farm & livestock sales, rodeos, woodworking, fishing, and his twice daily trips to drink coffee and visit with friends. He loved spending time with his children & grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan Whiteley, who died July 6, 1983; and his brother-in-law, Larry Storrer.

He leaves his children, Lesa Whiteley of Arizona, Jared Whiteley of Kansas, LaShonda Kendall (Travis) of Auburn, NE, and Cody Whiteley of Reading, KS; 14 grandchildren including, Allan and Seth Harper, Ramsey Whiteley, Layton and Keeley Kendall, and Emersyn, Easton, Brylie, and Tracker Whiteley; his sister, Nancy Storrer of LeRoy; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Logue Cemetery east of LeRoy.

The family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS.
