Ralph Leonard Bass, 59, of Gardner, KS, formerly of LeRoy, KS, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday, January 14, 2022, at the Olathe Medical Center.

He was born May 6, 1962, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Jerry Raymond and Martha Edith (Criqui) Bass. He spent his childhood in LeRoy, KS, and was employed during the construction of the Wolf Creek Generating Station as a painter. He took computer training courses to change careers and when he retired from Wolf Creek he was an IT Specialist. In 2019 he moved to Gardner and worked as a System Engineer at IPFS in downtown Kansas City, MO. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle but what he loved the most was the time spent with his granddaughters.

Ralph is survived by his children, Niki Shetler and husband Rory of rural Burlington, KS, and Dustin Bass, who made his home with his father in Gardner; three granddaughters, Niki's children, Carlee, Cassidee, and Cora Cole; siblings Karen Bass, Liberty, MO, Jerry Bass (Vickie), Paola, KS, Marion Bass, Buckner, MO, and Thelma Bass Miller (Myron), Liberty, MO; his father, Jerry Raymond Bass, Pittsburg, KS; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
