Penny Sue Keithley, 67, formerly of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Plaza West Care Center in Topeka, KS.

She was born August 18, 1955 in Long Beach, CA, the daughter of Paul and Kate (Wright) Keithley. She attended the Burlington schools and graduated from Burlington High School in 1973. She had worked as a nurse's aide at the Golden Age Lodge in Burlington in earlier years.

Penny loved to laugh and spent time with her children and grandchildren. She never knew a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Hill; her father, Paul Keithley; her mother and step-father, Kate and Clark Gifford; and a brother-in-law, Mike Schmidt.

She leaves her son, Brett Hill of Burlington; four grandchildren, Kobe Hill, Eric McCullough, Tyler McCullough, and Destiny Hill; two siblings, Bob Gifford (Melissa) and Debby Schmidt, nieces Megan Schmidt and Kayla Schmidt, and nephews James Schmidt and Chris Hegwald, other relatives and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.
