Peggy Lou Bewley (Oelkers), 93, of Eureka, passed away at the Greenwood County Hospital on November 5, 2020.

She was born on June 20, 1927, in Concordia, the daughter of Frank and Irene Oelkers.

On October 26, 1947, she was united in marriage to Calvin Bewley at Fredonia, in the Lutheran Church. They made their home on a ranch north of Eureka.

Peggy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka and a member of the Eureka Country Club where she enjoyed playing bridge for many years. She was known for her flowers and baking at the Greenwood County fair. Her cherry pie took Grand Champion over all baking exhibits at the Hutchinson State Fair.

Peggy was also a member of the Cattlewomen's Association and served as a Pink Lady for the Greenwood County Hospital Auxiliary. Peggy worked at Pennys and retired from Home Bank and Trust.

Peggy is survived by son Clint Bewley of Eureka; daughter P.J. Yochum of Newtown, Conn., three grandchildren, Casey Mahan of Celina, Tex., Harrison and Henry Yochum of Newton, Conn., and one great grandson, Cayden of Celina, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; parents and two brothers, Harold and Dale Oelkers.

Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery on November 8, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Hyun Jung Choi of the United Methodist Church officiating.
