Patricia Jean Mays, 84, Burlington, died at her home on August 3, 2020.

Pat was born on January 3, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas Darwent and Hazel Laverne Shull Johnston.

On January 8, 1955, she married Faye Eugene Mays in Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to Burlington in 1957 where they built their home and raised their children. Gene passed away on April 27, 2005.

Pat worked for the Golden Age Lodge (Life Care Center of Burlington) for 27 years.  She was a member of the Burlington Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene, a son Jim Darwent Mays, a grandson James Darwent Mays, her brother Thomas Darwent Johnston III, and a brother-in-law, Richard McDaniel.

Pat is survived by her son, Gene Mays (Audri), Burlington, her daughter, Susan Dennis (Berry), Adrian, MO, a daughter-in-law Gwen Mays, Burlington, her sister, Mary McDaniel, Woodlake, TX,  a sister-in-law, Beverly Johnston, Raymore, MO, 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Mays, El Dorado, KS, Daniel Mays (Cara), Burlington, and David Dennis, Adrian, MO, 3 great-grandchildren, Theron and Hayden Mays, and Michael Dennis, many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Graveside Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the Graceland Cemetery.
