Pamela was born on July 24, 1956, in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of Raymond Fredrick and Ann Carmelita (Goodman) Straub.  She grew up in Alabama and completed her GED in Ashford.

On October 15, 1974, Pamela was married to David Jefferson Hudson in Dothan, Alabama, and they would be the parents of two daughters.  In 1975, they moved to rural Waverly, Kansas, and made their life-long home there.  She had been a member of the Baptist Church in Waverly, and had worked in document control at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Center, and as a server at Peggy Sue's & BETO Junction.

Pamela cherished all the people in her life.  She loved family gatherings, spending time with her kids and grandkids, annual family girls trips and she was the glue that held the family together.  She was the best MawMaw to her grandchildren and a loyal friend, always seeking to help others.  She was an avid game player, whether it was with family, her friends, or her fellow online Yahtzee players all over the world.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, David Hudson, of the home; her two daughters, Rory Butler and husband Tony, and their children, Brandon and Bailey Butler, of Merriam, and Whitney Hudson of Topeka;  a sister, Evelyn Mosely and husband John of Semmes, Alabama; three brothers, David Straub and wife Angie of Woodbine, Maryland; Raymond Straub and wife Ginger of Monroe, Michigan; and Henry Straub of Alabama; and many other relatives and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life for Pamela will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Waverly Community Center.
