Norman Dean Zlab, 88, long-time resident of rural Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Yates Center Health & Rehab.

Norman was born August 17, 1935, at Beatrice, NE, the son of Adolph and Lillian (Vostrez) Zlab. When he was 2 years old the family moved to their ranch in northern Woodson County, KS. Norman attended Pleasant Hill Rural School before graduating from Gridley High School. He was a life-long farmer and rancher and oil producer.

On December 28, 1962, he and Sharron Ann Kiser were married at Miami, OK. They became the parents of two children.

Norman's favorite pastime was attending auctions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

He leaves his wife, Sharron; his children, Sandy Whitaker, Humboldt, KS, and Ron Zlab and wife Christie, Yates Center, KS; grandchildren, Angela (Travis) Wall and their children, Colten and Wyatt, Andrew Whitaker, Andrea Zlab (Trever Vahsholtz), and Katelin Zlab (Carlos Morales) and her children Rowan and Kayson.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 22, 2024, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 12:30 P.M. Monday until service time at the funeral home.
