Norma Louise Settlemyer, 71, of Dodge City, KS, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the home of her sister, Mayetta, in Burlington, KS.

Norma was born November 2, 1951 at Yates Center, KS, the daughter of Norman Richard and Velma Louise (Pendley) Settlemyer. She attended the Burlington schools where she was a talented athlete. She especially enjoyed softball. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1969. She was a member of a track and field club in Topeka.

She was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. She started out driving her father's milk truck while in high school. She was employed for a number of years at the Ford County Landfill at Dodge City before retiring last years. She was a cat lover.

She is survived by two sisters, Mayetta Ruth Taylor, Burlington, and Lila Belle Winterringer, New Strawn, KS; a brother, Arthur Settlemyer, Burlington; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Norma will be cremated. No services are scheduled. Jones Funeral Home in Burlington is assisting the family.
