Nelda O. Stitzel, 90, Burlington, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.

Nelda was born on December 13, 1928, in Moran, Kansas, to Orlin Kirk and Bula Maude Burnett Donoho.

Nelda moved to Burlington in 1970, after graduating from Emporia State University. She was the Burlington High School Librarian for many years until her retirement.

She had been a member of the Burlington Recreation Commission and the Burlington Tree Board. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and going on the "mystery trips" with the Burlington Rec Center.

Nelda is survived by her sons, Douglas Stitzel, Anthony, KS and Scott Stitzel and his wife Maggie, New Strawn, KS, and her daughter Lynne Scotto, Kansas City, MO.

She is to be cremated. No services will be held according to her wishes. Contributions may be made to the Northcare Hospice House and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
