Nancy Loraine Strawder, 90, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Coffey County Hospital.

She was born February 12, 1936, at Oskaloosa, KS, the daughter of Harry S. "Tom" and Mamie Belle (DeShazer) Gibson.

On February 6, 1965, she and James Robert "Jim" Strawder were married at Ottawa, KS.

Nancy had worked at the Ottawa Hospital, S & S Sales and Country Critters in Burlington, and for Dream Homes. Mostly she cared for her home and seven children.

Her husband, Jim, preceded her in death on January 13, 2003. She was also preceded by brothers, Harry and W. H. "Hoot" Gibson; and sisters, Christine Potter, Ruby Wood, Betty Houdashelt, and Kathy McCollum.

She leaves her children, Brenda Cherry (Jake), Broken Arrow, OK, James Strawder, Jr. (Kim), Lebo, KS, Debbie Stratton, Burlington, Tari Urton (Rocky), Waverly, KS, Steve Strawder (Stephanie), Lebo, KS, Ron Strawder (Lana), New Strawn, KS, and Sherri Strawder, Burlington; 18 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; her sister, Jean Clayton (Marvin), Wellsville, KS; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

A memorial graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Crandall Cemetery, 1414 3rd Rd, LeRoy, KS 66857.

Nancy LOVED animals, and had many, including a great number of rescues over the years, which she always kept, and added to the family.
