Nancy Jane Kunkel Bishop was called home December 12th, 2020 at the age of 66. She took her last breath surrounded by her close family.

Nan was born on August 31st, 1954 to Henry and Arta Kunkel. She was the youngest of 4 children in the family. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Susan Lewis.

She is survived by her husband Edward, her daughter Anna and husband Mike, three grandchildren, Gabby, Sebastien, and Sam, two brothers; Butch and his wife Glenda Gilkison and John and his wife Lisha Kunkel, many loving family members and too many friends to count.

Nan graduated with the class of 1972 from Yates Center High School and married Ed August 12, 1972 and their great adventure lasted 48 years. Together they traveled the United States, bought and remodeled homes, wallpapered, painted and created woodworking projects. Together they made friends, had parties and celebrated life.

They had one daughter who Nancy would brag and call their "best and brightest". They raised her in Yates Center where they resided most of their lives before living in Nemaha, Nebraska and then retiring in Kansas City, Missouri to be near their grandchildren.

Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren, Gabby and Sebastien. On hot summer days you'd always find them swimming in the pool, putting up a lemonade stand, or heading out to go fishing. She always made time to be with them. Sam became her third grandchild when Anna married Mike and she opened her heart as if he had always been hers. "Nana" cherished family time.

Nan was always surrounded by friends. Her warm smile, caring nature, and outgoing, funny personality made anyone she was around feel loved. Her laugh was contagious and could fill a room even with the worst of bad jokes.

She will live on in the lives she touched.

Nancy will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 19th. The funeral is for family only at 2:00 at the Campbell Funeral Home.

The family would like to invite public and friends to a visitation service outside at the Yates Center Cemetery at 3:00.
