Nadine Lavonne Leatherman, 76, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, August 12, 2018, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas.

Nadine was born December 15, 1941, in Lebo, Kansas, the daughter of Chester and Isabell (Myers) Rudolph. She grew up in Lebo and graduated from Lebo High School. She then attended business college in Topeka.

On June 12, 1960, she and Carroll Edward Leatherman were married in the Lebo Baptist Church. They became the parents of six children. They made their home in Aliceville, Kansas, for a short time before moving into Burlington. In 1992 they moved to Branson, Missouri, returning to Burlington in 2007.

Over the years Nadine worked as church secretary at the First Assembly of God Church in Burlington, was a bookkeeper at Huff's Gardens, operated a catering business, and owned and operated the Cake & Cookies Corner in downtown Burlington. In Branson she had worked at a cookie store and for Shoji Tabuchi.

Nadine was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Burlington.

In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and baking. She also enjoyed singing and was in the vocal group the Coryl Belles along with other family members that sang in different locations in the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Joy Childers, Roberta Dowell, Lois McNabb, and twins Darrell Rudolph and Dorothy Snovelle.

She leaves Carroll, her husband of more than 58 years; her children, Brenda Holloway (Troy) of Grantville, Georgia, Marilyn Gesling (Randy) of New Strawn, Kansas, Anne Brown of Burlington, Gary Leatherman of McCall, Idaho, Carol Mahon (Chuck) of DeSoto, Kansas, and Sharon Campbell (Benjamin) of McPherson, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joann White of Waverly, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 9:30 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
