William "Myrl" Dorcas, 91, Waverly, died on January 29, 2019, at the Sunset Manor in Waverly.

Myrl was born on August 8, 1927, in Waverly, to Everett H. and Mabel Fern LaRue Dorcas.

Myrl had been among other things, a Contractor,  Welder, Farmer, and Rural Mail Carrier from which he retired. He was a member of the Waverly Methodist Church, the Hall-Cromwell Post #119 of the American Legion,  the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and the Coffey County Airport Board.

Myrl was preceded in death by his parents and a son Danny LaRue Dorcas.

Myrl is survived by his son, Denton Dorcas, of Lawrence, a brother, Glen Dorcas and his wife Phyllis, Waverly, a sister, Dorothy Marsh, Waverly, 3 grandchildren, Clayton, Michelle, and Alexa, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Waverly Cemetery Shelter House. He will lie in state on Friday until 5:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
