Michael Kelly Lanier, 62, of New Strawn, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024.

The son of Alfred and Jane Lanier, he was born and raised in Kansas City.  He attended and graduated high school and Johnson County Community College before joining the Navy.

During his six-year enlistment, professionally he served as an operator on both a submarine and a surface ship; in his personal life he married and welcomed two daughters.  When his enlistment was up he brought his family back to Kansas and took a job with Wolf Creek Generating Station. He started as an I&C Technician and worked his way up to Planner before he retired after more than 20 years.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Melody; daughters Kirsten and Kelly; grandsons Whit and Kamron; granddaughter Danica; his sister, Cara; and other relatives and friends.
