Michael Leo Kewley, 31, of Burlington, KS, passed away Saturday August 11, 2018.

Michael was born May 26, 1987 in Emporia, KS, to Michael and Regina Kewley.  He graduated from Burlington High School in 2005. Michael attended Kansas University for one year then joined the US Army in 2006. Michael excelled in his Army career by completing Airborne & RIP Training.  He was assigned to the 75 ^th Ranger Regiment 2 ^nd Battalion, Fort Lewis, Washington where he was deployed from to fight the war on terrorism.  He finished his military career serving with the 173 ^rd Airborne Brigade stationed in Vicenza, Italy.

Surviving family members include his parents Michael and Regina Kewley; brother, Chase Kewley; grandmother, Jolleen Palmer; grandparents Leo and Pam Palmer; grandmother, Alma Jean Kewley; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Kewley.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. The family will meet with friends from 2:00 P.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.

Interment is being planned in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, at a later date.
