Max Oran Hess, 76, Burlington, died at his home on Monday, June 10, 2019.

Max was born on March 25, 1943, at Williamsburg, Kansas, to Alonzo and Katie Morey Hess.

On July 21, 1971, he married Rose Ann Dorsey at Shawnee, Kansas. They were the parents of two sons.

Max had been a truck driver for the Coffey County. He had served in the United States Army. He was in the Police Auxiliary and the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edwin Hess, and a sister Mildred.

Max is survived by his two sons, Matthew T. Hess and Danny J. Hess, both of Burlington, two brothers, Theodore Hess, Brooksville, FL, and Sylvester Hess, Paola, his sisters, Theda Darnell, Burlington and Yvonne Stone, TX, a grandson, Alexander Lee Hess, Cortez, CO, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Glendale Cemetery, north-east of Burlington. The family will receive friends, on Friday, 6:30 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to Jones Funeral Home, P.O.
