Mary Elizabeth Pitt, 89, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away early Saturday, November 9, 2019, at her home.

She was born April 19, 1930, at Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Fred Lewis and Mary Leona (Pyle) Acridge.

She spent her childhood in Fort Scott and rural Woodson County, Kansas. She had lived in Eugene, Oregon, and Van Couver, Washington, before moving to Yates Center in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Pitt, Sr., on December 18, 2006.

She leaves her children, Ted Pitt, Burlington, KS, Edward Pellett, Memphis, Tennessee, and Teresa Allen, Fort, Kansas; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

As to her wishes, Mary was cremated. No formal services will be held.

Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center is assisting the family.
