Mary Frances Jasper, 91, of Burlington, KS, passed away Tuesday morning, November 24, 2020, at the Coffey County Hospital from complications of Covid-19.

Mary was born January 3, 1929, east of LeRoy, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas Westfall and Letha Tressa Mae (Gillette) Byfield.

On June 18, 1945, she and Charles Edward "Ed" Jasper were married at Emporia, KS. They became the parents of two sons, Thomas and Jerry.

They lived near Gridley before moving to Burlington in 1986. Mary was a homemaker, caring for her family and home. After moving to Burlington she was employed at Country Critters in Burlington until her retirement in 1994.

Mary was an active, social person. She enjoyed attending many dances over the years.

She was a member of the Burlington United Methodist Church.

She and Ed suffered the loss of both their sons. Thomas died in 1999 and Jerry died in 2010. Ed preceded her in death on July 5, 2009, following more than 64 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Ronald and Kody Jasper, a great-grandson, Lance Edward Jasper, and her brother, Thomas W. Byfield.

She leaves 8 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.

Masks and social distancing will be required.
