Marvin (Marv) Dorl Withers went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 16th, 2022.  He was 84.

Marv was born in Yates Center, KS on May 10th, 1938, to Clarence Withers and Hope (Martin) Withers. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1956 and when he was 17, joined the Navy Air Force where he served 3 years.

Marv and Sarah (Pecka) Withers of Burlington, KS were married on October 21st, 1962, at the First Christian Church in Burlington and just celebrated their 60th anniversary.  The same year, Marv enrolled into the Vernon's School of Cosmetology and in May of 1963, Marv and Sarah worked together for Don Cole at a few different salons in Wichita.  Shortly thereafter, in October 1964, they decided to open their own salon in Emporia, KS that they operated for 6 years.  Later, they moved to Burlington, where Marv opened the Marv Withers Pontiac-Buick Car Dealership. During his career, he also sold Wicks Pole Barns, worked at Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant, was a Service Manager at Zsheile Motors, and finished his career at Kanza Corporation in Emporia, KS before retiring.

Marv loved collecting cars, mostly street rods but any car would be just fine for his beloved hobby.  He went to any swap meet, auction or garage sale he could find and never passed up a good deal. Marv and Sarah enjoyed traveling in their 1940 Ford 2-door sedan with their friends to car shows across the Midwest.  It also wasn't uncommon for the family vacations to be at the same time as one of the shows.  Marv knew no strangers and enjoyed conversation with anyone.

Marv was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Rex and a sister Lois Ann.  They have four children: Chris (Tina) Withers of Burlington, KS, Stan (Gretchen Kelley) Withers of Wichita, KS, Tony (April) Withers of Olathe, KS and Aaron Withers of New Strawn, KS.  They have 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Burlington Christian Church. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
