Marvin was born December 17, 1928, at home on Neosho Street, Burlington, KS, to
Ina (Lane) Seaton and Marvin "Ben" Vesper Seaton.  Marvin was one of five children raised by Ben and Ina in Burlington.  He often spoke of the hardships of the era and chose to leave home at a young age in hopes of more opportunities.  After hitch-hiking his way to different locations and jobs he joined the air force in 1947.  He worked as an aircraft mechanic for the Air Force, which served him well to make a successful career with Cessna and Boeing in Wichita, KS.

After serving in the Air Force, Marvin worked a civilian job in Germany, where he met and fell in love with Gudrun Lenz.  Marvin convinced Gudrun's parents he was the right man for their beautiful daughter and they were married in Germany.  He then brought his new bride home to live with him in the United States.

They raised three children together, Steve Seaton, Regina (Seaton) Hall and Raymond Seaton, while traveling all over the US following Marvin's jobs.  After many moves, the family settled in Burlington in the early 1970's.  Though Marvin and Gudrun later divorced, they remained important to one another.

Marvin was loved by many.  His happy, kind-hearted spirit made it easy to get to know him.    He LOVED to sing, even up until the day he passed, the nurses could hear him singing from the front desk.  He had a beautiful voice and enjoyed dancing the soft shoe, a skill he proudly taught his great-granddaughters. He also enjoyed going to the track to watch the horse races "the pony's".  However, he wouldn't wager more than a five dollar bet.

After retiring, Marvin embarked on an adventure to Australia and New Zealand.  With no set plans for where he would stay or how long he would be gone, he made his way across the country and enjoyed every moment. After more than a month, he returned home with stories and memories he cherished.

He became known for the many stories he told from his traveling days and kept that "white line fever" well into his 90s

Marvin often said he wanted to live to be 100 "to get as much money as he could from Uncle Sam".  He lived a very independent life until the final week when he told his family he was ready to "check-out".  He peacefully released his spirt on Sunday night, May 17, with his Son Raymond and daughter-in-law Teri by his side.

Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Francis and John Seaton and his sister Virgina (Seaton) Tucker.

He leaves behind his children, Steve Seaton, Regina (Seaton) Hall and Raymond (Teri) Seaton, his brother Charles Seaton, his grandchildren Amy (Seaton) Paris, Nicholas (Emily) Seaton, Troy (Staci) Sull, Renee Sull, Chris (Amy) Sull, Mark (Shelley) Hall, Josh (Ashley) Hall, 20 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
