Martha Laverne Lynes, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Holiday Resort Care Center of Emporia, Kansas, and has gone to be with the Lord.

Laverne was born on April 4, 1938, in Baird, Texas, to Eva D. (Woodard) Mauldin and Morris A. Mauldin.

Laverne was united in marriage to Aden W Lynes on January 19, 1957. He passed away in 2006. They had seven children, Soni Valasquez (Justino), Aden L. Lynes (Connie), Dianne Dawson, Toni McGee (Chris), Dana Leedy, Susan Lynes, and Evelyn Hawkins (Tony).

She has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Leon Mauldin, grandson. Levi Riggs, and son-in-law, Greg Dawson.

Mrs. Lynes was a member of the first Church of the Nazarene, Burlington, Kansas, for most of her adult life. She worked for Coffey County Senior Bus, Coffey County Hospital, the Country Club, and Butter Braids.

A visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington, Kansas, Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 6-7 pm.

A service will be held at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington, Kansas, Monday, December 19, 2022, at 10:30 am, precession followed at Baker Cemetery, Burlington, Kansas.
