Marilyn Lavon Davis, 85, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, November 4, 2022, at her home.

Marilyn was born May 28, 1937, at Gridley, KS, the daughter of William Fredrick and Opal Odetta (Scales) Roth. She lived in various locations growing up and graduated from Lyons Kansas High School. She then attended Sterling College.

On December 1, 1957, she and Larry Eugene Davis were married in the First Christian Church in Gridley, KS. They had made their home in Emporia since 1978.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Phyllis Lewis and Kathy Elliott.

She leaves Larry, her husband of nearly 65 years; her sons, Ronald Davis (Anita) of Emporia, and Thomas Davis (Linda Barker) and Hank Davis both of Lyons, KS; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Colby, and Dustin Davis; her siblings, Sharon Regier and Carol Englehaupt both of Cottonwood Falls, KS, William Roth (Jacquie), Illinois, Nyla Gibbons (Mark), Saffordville, KS, and Rhonda Glazier, Colorado Springs, CO; 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the Gridley Cemetery at Gridley, KS.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS.
