Marianne Kay (Williams) Goffe, 68, of rural Burlington, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home.

She was born December 11, 1955, the daughter of Roger Wesley and Clara Ruth (Skillman) Williams. She grew up on the family farm north of Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1973 where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. Later that year she and Byron Orr were married and they became the parents of two children, Brandon and Kelsey. They were later divorced.

She was employed as a secretary at Kansas State University.

On June 26, 1983, she and Barry Gilbert Goffe were married at Carlsbad, CA. In California Marianne worked for an eyeglasses company and then became a real estate broker. She was employed as a mortgage officer for a Brokerage. In 1993 they returned to Kansas and made their home at Gridley, Burlington, and Lamont before moving to their home southwest of Burlington in 2016. Marianne worked for Coffey County Real Estate and Insurance in Burlington. In 2006 she opened her own real estate company, Anew Realty in Burlington. Her company is still active although Marrianne had to slow down in 2016 due to failing health.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cathy Wilson.

She leaves Barry, her husband of more than 41 years; her children, Brandon Orr, Burlington, KS, and Kelsey Orr, Madison, KS; two step-children Jeanie and Tami; a granddaughter, Makinze Kaye Orr; 3 step-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Beyer (Kim), Gridley, KS; two brothers, Mike Williams (Linda), Carbondale, KS, and Kim Williams (Siska), Burlington, KS; a brother-in-law, Dave Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow in Stringtown Cemetery northeast of Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
