Lois Lynn Hoskins Walsh, 71, of Kansas City North, MO went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on January 20, 2025.  She fought a long, hard fight and was ready to go home.  After many years of declining health and pain, Lois has passed from this world to journey home and will remain with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all eternity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fenton Hoskins, Bessie Hoskins, and Opal Hoskins; sister, Lola Smith; brother, Lonnie Hoskins; sister, Ruth DeCamp Hayes; sister, Alice Snovelle; and sister, Betty Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; daughter, Crystel; sister, Judy Abendroth; sister, Mary Lou Shidler; and brother Randy Hoskins.

Lois was born in Emporia, KS, on the 3rd day of June 1953, the ninth child of Fenton and Opal Hoskins.  She went to school and grew up in Burlington, KS.  She was active in band, choir, theater, and multiple clubs and activities throughout her education.  She was talented in many mediums in the world of performing art.  Her emphasis was not limited to but excelled in Piano, Organ, and Clarinet.  She received high rating awards in both vocal and instrumental music and performed with the All-State Choir in Wichita, KS, her senior year.  She graduated from Burlington High School in 1971.  She was awarded a full scholarship to The University of Kansas for music.  She went to beauty school and received her beautician's license shortly after graduation.  She met Duane Walsh in 1972, and they were married on February 17, 1973.  In 1976, she gave birth to their only child, Crystel, and worked hard to provide for her family for decades to come.  She owned her own cleaning business, held employment in the field of bookkeeping and office administration, obtained a real-estate license, worked with several funeral homes in consoling the grieving of loved ones parted by death, and performed various other jobs throughout her career.  She enjoyed sharing her talent in playing the piano and singing for many weddings, funerals, and family gatherings.  She was the church pianist and organist at Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO for many years, where she held membership and gave her service in The Lord's work.

Lois will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends with the knowledge that we will reunite one day through the saving blood of God's gift through His son.  Until then, we will remember her in our hearts and by the memories we created with her during her life.  We love you, Mom, wife, sister, friend, and fellow musician.  We are proud of you and thank you for your love throughout your years on this earth.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery west of Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Jones Funeral Home.
