Linda E. Morrison, 73, died September 27, 2026, at KU Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1953, in Burlington, to Ron and Nellie (Steele) Birk. Linda graduated from Gridley High School in 1971, where she was a majorette and enjoyed music and the arts. After graduating, she moved to Washington, where her first daughter was born, and later lived in Nevada before returning to Kansas, where she met her husband, Larry.

Linda worked for several years in the clerk’s office at the Allen County Courthouse. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. After the birth of her second child, she started Precious People Daycare so she could combine her love of children with being home for her own. She was known as a jokester and loved sharing her humor with others.

Linda was a lifelong music lover who enjoyed contemporary Christian, secular pop, and classic rock. She was a huge Beatles fan throughout her life. She and Larry enjoyed socializing with friends, both at home and out, and often went dancing together.

They married on May 27, 1983, in Gridley, and shared 43 years of marriage.

Linda is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; daughters, Jennifer Shreders of Durham, NC, and Andrea Morrison of Iola; step-children, Heather Morrison and Mark Morrison; grandchildren, Sophie, Olivia, Kandace, Logan, and Helena; great-grandson, Sebastian; siblings, Steve Birk and wife Theresa of Elkin, WV, Alan Birk and wife Janet of Gridley, and Dave Birk and wife Deb of Overland Park; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. Family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Gridley Cemetery.
