Linda Kaylene Harris-Westhoff was born December 3rd, 1963, in Ottawa, KS, to Daisy (Burris) Harris and George Harris. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family in Ottawa on Sunday, July 6th, 2025. She was 61. To carry on her lively spirit, she leaves behind two daughters, Bri Westhoff of Leavenworth, and Brandi Bretthauer, her husband John Bretthauer also of Leavenworth, and two ornery grandsons, Wyatt and Hank. She also leaves behind a sister, Debra (David) Rolland of Williamsburg, two brothers, George, Jr (Tina) Harris of Williamsburg, and Gary (Karen) Harris of Ottawa, as well as seven nieces/nephews and six great-nieces/nephews with one on the way.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, George Harris, mother, Daisy Harris, as well as her nephew, George (Trey) Harris III.

Growing up in Williamsburg, KS, Linda was an active young woman helping her mom and sister with gardening and sewing, and helping her dad with office duties in the family business at Harris Construction. She then went on to Allen County Community College to study business. At Allen, she met lifelong friends where she would constantly cause trouble. She had great admiration for her former husband's family, Ed Westhoff, especially his parents, Chuck and Betty Westhoff. Linda enjoyed family gatherings, going to the lake, being a Mimi to her grandchildren, and any chance to see a John Wayne classic. If it wasn't a western then it was a true crime documentary, and she was drinking every Dr. Pepper in the county. In her later years, Linda was a Mental Health Advocate for Elizabeth Layton Center and a Sacker for Price Chopper in Ottawa, where you could always catch a smile on her face. She was known to be a very loving and dear friend who could always make you laugh. Her greatest joy was playing with her grandsons. You could find them digging in the dirt or garden, playing imaginary games like "Doggy Treat Delivery," hunting for buried treasure, and many other games. She will be missed fiercely.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Inurnment will follow in Baker Cemetery west of Burlington

The family will meet with friends from 10:30 A.M. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
