On January 11, 2025, Lena Maude (Weaver) Wyrick, caring mother and cherished grandmother, passed away at the age of 97.

Lena was born on June 3, 1927 in Admire, KS to Waldo and Alta Foster Weaver. She married Wayne Wyrick and had 2 children, Tim Wyrick and Audrey Wyrick-Sleater. Lena farmed and resided in the Waverly, KS community since 1959.

Lena had a passion for quilting, enjoyed working in her garden and relished relaxing in her lawn swing. She was known for her sense of humor, resilience, generosity, independence and by her grandchildren as the "best hugger."

Lena is remembered by her children: Tim Wyrick and Audrey Wyrick-Sleater; her grandchildren: Benjie Murrell, John Murrell, Matt Murrell, Amanda Hedrick, Blair Wyrick and Brett Wyrick; and her 15 great grandchildren: Calvin, Johnathan, Falyn and Joseph Murrell; Clive Murrell; Devin and Avery Murrell; Beatrice, Locke and Ranger Hedrick; Nadia, William and Collette Wyrick; and Sienna and Brooklyn Wyrick

She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings: Duke Weaver, Harvey Weaver, Bob Weaver, Louise Weaver, Norma Coates, Dewey Weaver, Cora Brown, Jerry Weaver and great-grandchild, Dylan Murrell.

The funeral for Lena will be held at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS on Sunday, January 19 at 1:30 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, north of Admire, KS.
