Larry Lee Crossfield, 78, life-long resident of Toronto, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

Larry was born May 25, 1943, at Eureka, KS, the son of Leland Francis and Beulah Frances (Sowder) Crossfield. He graduated from Toronto High School in 1961.

He served in the United States Army until his Honorable Discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 1981. He was a member of Toronto Post #325 of The American Legion.

He was married to Cheryl Sue Hilyard and they were the parents of two sons, Aaron and Jordan. They were later divorced.

In 2008 Larry was elected to a term on the Woodson County Board of Commissioners. He was a 50 year member of Woodson Lodge #121, A.F. & A.M.

Larry traveled around the world working as a telephone contractor. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hiking. He loved his dog, Max. Mostly he enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves his sons, Aaron Crossfield (Gina), Rosalia, KS, and Jordan Crossfield (Katie), El Dorado, KS; his grandchildren, Cali Crossfield, Jordon Appling, Blake Mueller, Marlana Smith, Tyler, Colton, and Brittni Timms, Kylie, Emma, Logan, and Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Ann Oehlert, Yates Center, KS; many other relatives and friends.

Memorial graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Toronto Cemetery.
