Harold Kenneth "Kenny" Garrett, 81, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

Kenny was born January 2, 1941, at Burlington, the son of Karl and Lucille (Hall) Garrett. He attended schools in Burlington and Gridley. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Viet Nam War and retired from the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant after 21 years of service.

On September 3, 1960, he and Sherry Fay Crotts were married at the Methodist Parsonage in LeRoy, KS. They lived in places all over the world during Kenny's military deployment. Following his retirement they returned to Burlington. Kenny attended the Colorado School of Trades in Denver and earned a certificate in Gunsmithing. He was employed at Wolf Creek Generating Station for a short time before he and Sherry opened K & S Gun Shop in downtown Burlington. In later years he continued to do gunsmithing at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lawrence, Juanita, Karen, Steven, and Peggy.

He leaves Sherry, his wife of more than 61 years; three sisters, Marjorie King, Normal, IL, Charlotte (Dean) Rich, Gridley, KS, and Gloria Williamson, Overland Park, KS; a brother, Ivan Garrett, Wymore, NE; a brother-in-law, Jim Walsh, Bellevue, WA;  a sister-in-law, Debbie Garrett, Catoosa, OK; a number of nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Burlington. Burial will follow in Stringtown Cemetery northeast of Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
